A special wedding Sunday took place amid  the COVID-19 epidemic at the Henan Provincial People Hospital in Zhengzhou, capital of central China’s Henan Province.

The bride, Li Mingyan, and the groom, Shi Weili, are both doctors at the Henan Provincial People Hospital, which has treated several confirmed cases as the designated hospital for receiving infected patients.

They only had paper cuts with congratulatory words and several comrades as witnesses, wearing doctor’s coats as wedding dress and suit.

The two families chose February 9 as the day for their wedding, while the epidemic outbreak brought them back to their posts.

Considering their work and the safety of families and friends, they finally decided to hold the ceremony at their hospital.

This way, they can continue the battle against the epidemic and hold the wedding on schedule. Most importantly, it’s really memorable for the pair.

The groom took his bride from her department on the seventh floor of the hospital to a room at the General Medicine Department on the fifth floor, where a brief wedding ceremony was held.

At the ceremony, the couple had video chats with parents of both sides. Department leaders and some colleagues on duty attended their wedding, all of whom wore masks and kept their distance.

The couple then returned to work satisfied.
