State Council appoints, removes officials

BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of officials on Monday.

Liu Huanxin was appointed vice minister of agriculture and rural affairs, and Yu Xinrong was removed from the post, said a statement from the State Council.

Zhou Xuewen and Liu Wei were appointed vice ministers of emergency management. Zhou was also named vice minister of water resources. Fu Jianhua and Ye Jianchun no longer serve as vice ministers of emergency management.

Zhou Huiguo became the deputy head of the National Intellectual Property Administration. He no longer serves as deputy head of the National Administration of State Secrets Protection.

Qiu Yong and Mo Zeyao were appointed deputy heads of the China Academy of Engineering Physics and Lai Xinchun was named chief engineer of the academy. He Yingbo is no longer deputy head of the academy and Long Xinping is no longer chief engineer of the academy.

Niu Zhijun took the post of deputy head of the China Geological Survey and no longer serves as deputy head of the China Earthquake Administration.

Wang Kun became the deputy head of the China Earthquake Administration and no longer holds the position of deputy head of the China Geological Survey.   

Wang Yiming was removed from the post of deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council.

Tian Yulong no longer serves as deputy head of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence.

Zhang Xin no longer holds the position of deputy head of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
