BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of officials on Friday.

Zhang Tianfeng was appointed deputy director of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, replacing Yang Peisen.

Former Israeli security officials to be charged in graft case: Israeli State Attorney: (Photo: AP)JERUSALEM, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Israeli State Attorneys Office announced Thursday that it plans to indict two former senior defense officials for corruption in relation to a 2 billion U.S. dollars deal to purchase German submarines.The State Attorneys Office said in a statement that it had decided to press charges against Avriel Bar-Yosef, former deputy chief of the National Security Council, and Shai Brosh, a former top navy officer, pending a hearing.The date of the hearing has yet to be scheduled.The office said Bar-Yosef is suspected of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, while Brosh was allegedly a middleman for passing messages between Bar-Yosef and other defendants in the case.The so-called "Case 3000" involves purchases of submarines and missile ships from the German shipbuilder Thyssenkrupp.In December 2019, State Attorneys Office announced it had decided to indict David Shimron, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus personal lawyer and cousin, with money laundering in relation to the deal.Netanyahu himself was previously questioned as a witness but the police said he was not a suspect in this case.
