Chinese swimmer Sun Yang won the men's 800-meter freestyle event at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, breaking the Asian record with a time of 7 minutes 48.36 seconds.

The three-time Olympic champion also won the men's 200-meter freestyle event.
