Tan Hongmei, a pioneering female pilot, is one of the first to drive the new Y-20 large transport aircraft, nicknamed Kunpeng, for China's Central Theater Command Air Force.

To train herself to fly the Kunpeng, Tan was persistent in going to the airport and learning in the cockpit.

Due to her continuous efforts, Tan was eligible to attempt her solo flight quickly and upgraded her qualifications to be a Kunpeng pilot.

While facing a current of strong air during her scheduled training, the Kunpeng aircraft entered turbulence. Tan held the joystick tightly and adjusted her position rapidly. Soon, the aircraft flew smoothly.

She knows the sky has no limits, and feels a responsibility to help protect China's air space.
