The public security bureau has captured the suspect for the hit and run accident in Huludao, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Thursday, so far five are dead and 19 injured.

Five minors have been killed with three seriously injured among the 19 reportedly injured.

All wounded are being rescued.

The Jianchang County government has established a leading accident handling group consisting of six dedicated teams to appease and comfort the families of the dead and injured.

The male suspect, surnamed Han, 29, was confirmed to not be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The case is under further investigation.

As of 17:30, the hit and run accident in Huludao, Northeast China's Liaoning Province has caused five deaths with 19 people injured. 

Huludao Municipal Procurator has assigned taskforce for on-site inspection.

Wang Fukui, the head of the investigation and supervision department in Jianchang County Procurator, arrived at the scene to start the investigation and rescue.

Wang Jiucheng, the chief procurator of the Jianchang County Procurator provided guidance to the investigation and evidence gathering. He also assigns teams for the interrogation.

Other officials from Huludao Municipal Procurator are working at the scene of the accident to handle the aftermath.

5 killed and 18 injured after a car plows into students outside northeast China primary school

A car plows into several students outside a primary school Thursday in Huludao City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, leaving 5 dead and another 18 injured.

The driver has been detained after he tried to flee, according to local media. The injured have been hospitalized.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
