BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- China's procuratorial organs had prosecuted 6,755 suspects in criminal cases related to the COVID-19 epidemic by July, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said on Thursday.

Procuratorial organs across the country had also approved the arrest of 5,797 suspects involved in such crimes, figures from the SPP showed.

Information on 55 typical epidemic-related cases was released as a warning and precaution, according to the SPP.

This year has seen a decline in the number of gang-related and serious criminal cases across China amid the COVID-19 epidemic, the SPP said.
