Three killed in sports center collapse in S China

Three of the four trapped workers died at the hospital due to serious injuries, while one another sustained a fracture, according to the latest update by local authorities.

Two workers trapped in the under-construction sports center in the southern Chinese municipality of Shenzhen have been successfully rescued, said the local authorities.

They have been immediately sent to hospital for treatment.

One person was killed and two others remain trapped on Monday following a building collapse in a sports center in Shenzhen City, south China's Guangdong Province, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred at around 11:45 a.m. local time when up to four workers were trapped during ongoing construction in the Shenzhen Sports Center. Two of them have been pulled out and sent to the hospital.

As of 1:50 p.m. local time, one of the injured victims, surnamed Wang, died in the hospital.

The rescue mission is ongoing.

The cause of the incident has not been determined.
