The meeting was presided over by Zhao Leji, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CCDI.

The meeting noted that the session of the CPC Central Committee was of great importance and was held in a crucial phase of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, as the country marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and is striving to reach the two centenary goals.

Discipline inspection and supervision organs at all levels should take learning and implementing the spirit of the session as a major political task, accurately grasp the essence and requirements of the session and fully implement the systems of the country, according to the meeting.

The session has put forward new tasks and requirements for discipline inspection and supervision, and pointed the direction for the high-quality development of the work in the new era.

Discipline inspection and supervision organs should thus highlight their political supervision and strengthen their regular supervision to establish an all-encompassing mechanism for the supervision over the implementation of systems, the meeting stressed.

They should also give further play to their functions to continuously improve and develop the country's systems via supervision, while keeping pace with the times and advancing the reform of the discipline inspection and supervision system, and the innovation of the systems related to the work, according to the meeting.

The fourth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee was held from Oct. 28 to 31 in Beijing.
