BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang stressed the need to conscientiously study and implement Xi Jinping's instructions on improving the work of people's political consultative conference.

Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the statement at a symposium, running Saturday and Sunday, on the important thoughts of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on enhancing and improving the work of people's political consultative conference.

Xi's instructions have clarified the roles, missions, responsibilities and operating requirements of the people's political consultative conference and will guide such work in the new era, Wang said.

He urged committees of people's political consultative conferences at all levels to review their own work and address weaknesses.

Political advisors are encouraged to perform their duties more effectively and will be given better training, Wang said.
