Treaties and cooperative documents which have been signed by China and the EU will continue to apply to the UK during its Brexit transition period, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said Tuesday.

China agreed to the special arrangement in accordance with the Brexit agreement that treaties concluded by the EU will still apply to the UK during the transition period from February 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.

“China is willing to work with the UK and the EU to jointly advance treaty work in relevant areas of cooperation during the transition period,” Geng said.
