Two top officials in Hubei Province reprimanded for novel coronavirus miscount

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection investigated miscalculations reported by officials in Hubei Province’s city of Jingmen.

On February 19, Jingmen reported a fall of 107 in the city's confirmed novel coronavirus cases. 

Two top officials, Zhang Aiguo, Jingmen's Party chief, and the city mayor, Sun Bing, have been reprimanded for the miscount.

In addition, Li Zhizhen, head of Jingmen's health commission, and Li Aie, the commission's deputy head, also have been given internal warnings and administrative punishment.
