The accusation of laser attacks on the US military in the East China Sea is groundless, said a Chinese spokesperson on Friday, denying media reports on the alleged attacks.

Geng Shuang, spokesperson of the Chinese foreign ministry, made the remarks in response to a media inquiry over the allegation at a regular briefing.

US media reported that US military pilots flying over the East China Sea have been targeted by blinding laser attacks more than 20 times over the last 10 months.
