The US Commerce Department said on October 27 it made a preliminary finding that China dumped aluminum foil on the US market and imposed duties ranging from 97 percent to 162 percent.

In August, the department placed preliminary anti-subsidy duties of about 17 percent to 81 percent on China’s aluminum foil imports.

A Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman, Sun Jiwei, in April urged US authorities to abide by World Trade Organization rules in its investigation of aluminum imports. China has "grave concern" over the US anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations regarding Chinese aluminum foil, he said.
