China urges the US to view China's national defense development rationally and objectively, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a routine press briefing on Wednesday.

A report by the US Department of Defense on China's military recently said that China has quickly established a powerful army covering all fields in order to impose its will.

China is firmly opposed to the above-mentioned US report which, in total disregard of facts, makes presumptuous and irresponsible comments on China's development path, strategic intentions and national defense construction, said Hua.

The baseless accusation, full of outdated cold-war and zero-sum mentality, is totally ridiculous and unprofessional, said Hua.

China urges the US side to view China's national defense development in a rational and objective manner.
