Built in 1989, China’s Antarctic Zhongshan Station consists of more than 10 buildings where researchers live and work. In a place where vegetables are more precious than meat or seafood, there is a special greenhouse where cucumbers and lettuce are planted so researchers can eat fresh vegetables during the winter.
