In China, we have Singles' Day on November 11. In China, people usually call single people "光棍" (smooth stick), which coincidentally looks the number "1". This makes November 11 – 11/11 – very special for single people as it is quadruple ones.

The festival has been held annually since 2009 on the 11th day of the 11th month, also known as "Double 11". It's kind of like "Black Friday" in the US or "Boxing Day" in the UK. The idea came from Taobao, when it stormed the online shopping world for the very first time. It was also seen as a chance to boost sales in the lull between China's national holiday in October and the Christmas season. Last year, Alibaba closed the shopping marathon with $25.3 billion. Now, Bachelor's Day promotions may be the most important timing to achieve annual revenue goals.

People can buy almost everything with discounts on more and more shopping platforms during the festival. Watch the video and listen to the stories about the Double 11 day.
