Over 20 people saved the takin Friday afternoon, after a call for help was posted by netizens. The post said it had been there for days. Villagers fed the takin with cabbage, carrots and leaves.

A takin was found in the Qinling Mountains on Thursday and nearby villagers and forestry workers fed it.

The takin was saved after a three hour joint effort. The rescue center staff said that the takin looks 16 years old and was too old to walk as fast as its group and fell behind. The center will work on treatment for it. (Compiled by Dong Feng)
