At the Wuhan University of Engineering Science in Central China's Hubei Province, there is a volunteer program to help elderly people realize one of the dreams of their youth. The volunteers spent more than eight years using their cameras to bring nearly 50,000 portraits to more than 1,400 elderly people across China.

Most elderly people had little opportunity to get a portrait taken when they got married in the past. It was not until the early 1990s that professional wedding photo studios started to spring up in the Chinese mainland. Therefore, the team hopes to help make up for this by offering them portraits now.

Compared to the ever-changing courtships between young people, the long-term caring and committed relationship between elderly people is quite touching.

Now, an increasing number of young people are volunteering to join this team of portrait takers. "I hope to bring happiness to others, learn the truth of life and gain self-growth through volunteering," said Yu Jinwen, who is in charge of program.
