Diebu, in Northwest China's Gansu province, also known as "Die Prefecture" in ancient China, means "thumb" in Tibetan and also was called the place created by God of mountain. In July, the region embraces its wheat harvest season, with waves of wheat sprawling beautifully across the landscape.
A poem says, "July is the busiest time for country people because wheat has ripened". The summer breeze, blowing into the Diebu and across the field, is like an invisible hand rolling up the layers of waving wheat. Walking along the lane, fields on both sides of the road are covered with golden wheat and the smell of the coming harvest is overwhelming.
The sound of the harvest, combined with the birds singing, creates a pleasing scene. In the fields, farmers and herdsmen gather their straw and grain, prepare the bounty and transported it to dry. Farmers and machines work together in an orderly manner to finish various procedures, including gathering, transporting, drying and so on, showing a busy and harmonious scene.
