BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- President Xi Jinping on Friday extended his Spring Festival greetings to the country's journalists, and stressed integrated media development.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at a group study session of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, which centered on the all-media era and integrated media development.

The session was held at the new media mansion of the People's Daily, the CPC Central Committee's official newspaper.

Xi stressed that integrated development of the media should be accelerated to make the penetration, guidance, influence, and credibility of the mainstream media more powerful. Thus "positive energy can be stronger while the mainstream tone is more exalted," he said.
