Ji Bingxuan, the special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, will attend the inauguration of Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro on Jan. 1, 2019, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying announced on Thursday.

The attendance of Ji, also vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, comes at the invitation of the Brazilian government, Hua said.
