Xi sends congratulatory letter to China International Digital Economy Expo

BEIJING, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping offered his congratulations in a letter to the 2019 China International Digital Economy Expo that opened Friday in Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei Province.

The robust advancement of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, as well as fast growth of the digital economy, have profoundly changed people's way of production and life, and brought far-reaching influence on the economic and social development of countries, global governance and progress of human civilization, Xi said in the letter.

He stressed that China has paid close attention to the development of the digital economy, accelerated digital industrialization and industry digitalization, and pushed forward deep integration of the digital economy and real economy to promote high-quality economic development.

Xi expressed the hope that participants of the expo will deepen communication and cooperation, and discuss and share ways of developing the digital economy to better benefit people all over the world.

China International Digital Economy Expo is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Hebei provincial government. Themed as "Digital Economy Leads High Quality Development", the expo comprised exhibitions, a forum on smart development of Xiong'an New Area, and investment promotion activities.
