BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The 9th Beijing Xiangshan Forum will be held from Sunday to Tuesday in the Beijing International Convention Center, the organizer of the forum said Friday.

With the theme of "Maintaining International Order and Promoting Peace in the Asia-Pacific," the three-day forum will have four plenary sessions and eight panel discussions.

One special event will be arranged for participants to have a chance to have a better understanding of China's development achievements and the country's contributions to world peace and development.

More than 530 participants from 76 official delegations have confirmed participation in the forum, according to the organizer.

This year's forum will cover a wide range of topics, such as relations between major powers, the interests of small and medium-sized countries and international security, as well as maritime security, and the influence of artificial intelligence on international security and future warfare.

Initiated in 2006, the forum has been dedicated to promoting exchanges and cooperation among defense authorities, armed forces, international organizations and scholars.
