Luo’s family was suffering from difficult times, and her primary school was 10 kilometers away.

In 1998, she was admitted to a teachers’ college, and Luo gave up her job in the city and returned to her hometown of Xichang, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province.
