More than 80,000 people have taken the coronavirus test as of Wednesday, and the testing capacity has been beefed up from 2,500 to 250,000 per day, a spokesperson said at a news briefing.
Since the city reported two imported cases of COVID-19 from Myanmar on Monday, over 1,000 medical staff from other places in the province and Sichuan Province have been sent to the city to help with the testing.
Bordering Myanmar, Ruili is a county-level city of Dehong prefecture, with the number of permanent residents at around 210,000.
