The provincial government of Zhejiang recently issued a plan to build four Poetry Road cultural belts to boost local tourism.

The four belts consist of famous places and scenic spots praised by ancient Chinese poets in their works, including the Grand Canal, the Qiantang River, as well as several beautiful ancient villages and towns.

The government plans to invest 2 billion yuan ($285.31 million) to improve infrastructure along with the four belts and boost the development of surrounding towns.

The province will also build several greenways to improve the scenic spots, integrating natural scenery with the distinctive local culture.
