BEIJING, March 5 (Xinhua) -- "Green Book," a comedy-drama film that has just won three Oscars, raked in 151.8 million yuan (about $22.65 million) at the Chinese mainland box office in just five days.

The film, which hit Chinese cinemas Friday, ranked the first on the single-day box office list Monday and Tuesday, according to the China Box Office, which tracks film screenings.

Set in the 1960s, "Green Book" is based on a true story about a tour of the racially divided South by African-American classical and jazz pianist Don Shirley and Tony Vallelonga, an Italian-American bouncer who served as Shirley's driver and bodyguard.

The film has had comments by more than 242,000 viewers on Chinese movie rating platform Douban, with a score of 8.9 out of 10 points.
