'Leap' to show the spirit of China's female volleyball team

"Leap", directed by Peter Chan, premiered in Beijing on Sunday night. 

Gong Li, Huang Bo, Wu Gang, young actor Peng Yuchang and Lang Ping's – current head coach of China women's national volleyball team – daughter Bai Lang has a Q&A session with the audience. 

The upcoming film is based on real stories from different eras of China's female volleyball team, which is beloved in the country.

In the past 40 years, the effort of the team has reflected on how Chinese sports have grown, and it's also a shared memory for millions of Chinese worldwide. All the blood, sweat and tears of the team are up on screen. 

The Chinese women's volleyball team is a spiritual symbol for the country. Peter Chan said this film was tough to make, but the volleyball team supported the crew throughout the whole film making process, and the audience can definitely feel it.
