'My People My Country' receives warm welcome in Sweden

Stockholm (People's Daily) - “My People, My Country,” a Chinese film celebrating of the 70th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China premiered in Stockholm, Sweden on October 20, 2019.

The three-hour film features seven short stories drawing on historical events beginning in 1949 to the present day.  The film was made to awaken shared memories among Chinese around the world.

 Hosted by the Chinese Embassy in the Swedish capital, the film’s reception was held at the Stockholm Waterfront Center.

Guests could apply for free tickets several days in advance, but were hard to come by as they sold-out within two hours.

The film played three times to meet audience demand. At the end of each screening, audiences responded with overwhelming applause.  

From 8 am to 5 pm, roughly 3,000 Chinese and Swedish attendees had seen the film.
