Twenty-eight-year-old Goo Hara, a former member of K-pop girl group Kara, was found dead at her home on Sunday, according to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.

The report said that the local police found her body at her home in Seoul at about 6 p.m., and an investigation into the cause of her death is underway.

Earlier on May 26, she tried to commit suicide at her home after midnight, but was found by her agent and sent to hospital.

In September, 2018,  it was reported that there was domestic violence between her and an ex-boyfriend. There were also reports that the ex-boyfriend tried to blackmail her with a sex tape. The police investigated the case on suspicion of mutual violence.
