She is now one of the inheritors of the provincial-level intangible cultural heritage. She has been passionate about clay figurines, fabrics, sewing dolls, and paper-cutting since her childhood.
Besides creating dough figurines, she has also sown over 60 pairs of tiger-head shoes for babies and children.
Her works are vivid, delicate and exquisite.
Tiger-head shoemaking is part of folk art. Local people still keep the custom of putting these shoes on children.
The tiger is the king of the beasts, and Chinese people believe that children wearing shoes with tiger elements could get rid of evil, make them strong, safe and healthy. (Compiled by Dong Feng)
