A young girl's simple but heartwarming gift for a bus driver - a bag of "crushed" crispy egg rolls - has moved many Chinese netizens.

The story which was shared by the driver on WeChat, China's instant messaging app, was widely circulated on social media.

The little girl, along with her grandmother, stepped in a bus to school on a rainy day in Hangzhou City, east China's Zhejiang Province on September 21. However, the girl soon discovered that they had boarded a wrong bus. Worried that she might be late for school, the girl began to weep and anxiously asked her grandmother for help.

Overhearing the conversation between the girl and her grandmother, 40-year-old bus driver surnamed Jiang, offered help without any hesitation.

"Please don't cry little girl, I will send you to school in time, believe me," Jiang comforted the little girl. The girl then stopped crying, but was still worried and kept looking outside the window anxiously.

Fortunately, the bus had almost completed its route and was heading to the last stop, which was still far from the girl's school. The driver then decided to go a few extra miles and dropped the girl and her grandmother close to the school.

Upon arrival, the girl expressed her gratitude to Jiang. In fact, she arrived at her destination 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time.
