Rare Rothschild's giraffe was born on Tuesday (September 11) afternoon at Woburn Safari Park, England.

In a video released by the zoo, a yet-to-be-named female calf walked with her parent and other adult giraffes. She started walking within an hour after birth, the zoo said, adding the calf was healthy.

The new arrival measured six-feet tall (1.8m) and is expected to reach 18-feet (5.4m) by adulthood, the zoo said. The baby was born to 20-year-old mother, Savannah, and 15-year-old father, Casper.

Rothschild's giraffes are among the rarest mammals in the world. The species is classified as endangered by the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature), with less than 1,600 individuals remaining in the wild.
