Representing the Chinese publishing industry, Beijing Normal University Publishing Group has been to the fair six consecutive times.
This is the first time the exhibition has been held offline since the global pandemic. The exhibition is aimed at exploring new modes of international cooperative publishing, expanding the field of publishing cooperation, and strengthening cultural exchanges.
The book fair attracted many overseas publishers from Arab countries, Europe, the US and China. It was divided into several sections, including literature, children's books, as well as European and American books.
Chinese participants brought 1,425 volumes of books from 283 book categories. The books on display were mainly President Xi Jinping’s works and relevant books like the Arabic and English versions of The Governance of China (Volume I, Volume II and Volume III), Speech at the Ceremony Marking the Centenary of the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinping Wit and Vision: Selected Quotations and Commentary.
Books on China's recent and contemporary development experiences and models, traditional Chinese culture, Chinese children and Chinese language learning were also available for researchers and book lovers at the fair.
The Chinese booth organized a variety of book-launching ceremonies and readers’ exchanges, providing a window for locals in Jordan to experience Chinese culture.
The Amman International Book Fair is jointly held by the Union of Jordanian Publishers and the Culture Ministry and the Greater Amman Municipality. The annual event focuses on Arabic and English book sales and cultural exchange activities.
