The opening ceremony of the "Study China" program was held at East China Normal University on Monday, eastday.com reported. The program has been held for 10 years since 2008.

The 220 British students come from the most prestigious universities, and they will study courses in Chinese culture over the next three weeks. Various visits to major Shanghai attractions have been planned for them. In addition, they will spend a day with Chinese families, so they are able to experience more about China.

The program, which is funded by the UK government, has seen strong interest among British students. They have asked for more Chinese courses at university and are interested in studying and working in China in the future.
