China finishes swimming at 2018 Summer Youth Olympics with nine medals

Team China finished their swimming session at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics on Friday with another three medals, making the country's final swimming achievements in Buenos Aires three gold, four silver and two bronze.

First, in the final of the women's 50-meter freestyle race, Yang Junxuan finished with a time of 25.47 seconds, the same as Neza Klancar from Slovenia. The two shared the bronze medals behind Mayuka Yamamoto from Japan (25.39 seconds, silver) and Barbora Seemanova from the Czech Republic (25.14 seconds, gold).

Then, in men's 50m breaststroke, China's Sun Jiajun reached the goal line second at 27.85 seconds and won the silver medal. South Africa's Michael James Houlie took the gold medal with a time of 27.51 seconds while Canada's Alexander Milanovich finished with 27.87 seconds to win the bronze medal.

In the last final of the swimming, the mixed 4x100m medley relay, Wang Guanbin, Sun Jiajun, Lin Xintong and Yang Junxuan were all leading during the competition and won the gold medals with a time of three minutes and 49.79 seconds. Russia came second with three minutes and 51.46 seconds and Japan ranked third with three minutes and 51.74 seconds.

After six days of races in the pool, Russia led the medal tally with 19 including 13 golds, four silvers and two bronzes. Hungary was second with eight medals (seven golds and one silver). China ranked third with three golds, four silvers and two bronzes (nine in total).
