Chinese Ambassador to Costa Rica Tang Heng extended congratulations to the citizens of Costa Rica as they celebrated the 200th anniversary of the nation's independence in a video message.

These kinds of culture exchanges further strengthen the friendship and ties between the governments and people of the two countries, noted Sylvie Durán Salvatierra, the minister of culture and youth of Costa Rica, while expressing gratitude for the special gift from China.

The series of ballet performances showcased classics such as Canon in D and Carmen. It also included novel pieces like The Chinese New Year, a localized version of the classic ballet The Nutcracker, as well as Dunhuang, inspired by the Buddhist art and frescoes.

Starting on Saturday, the series has been aired on various TV channels during prime time, available to millions of viewers throughout the country.
