BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- China's National Meteorological Center (NMC) Sunday renewed the yellow alert for severe convection weather, forecasting heavy rainstorms, wind and hail in southern parts of the country.

From Sunday to Monday, heavy rainstorms will sweep most parts of Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan and Yunnan provinces as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the NMC said.
Some areas will be hit by up to 60 mm of rainfall within 24 hours, according to the NMC.
The observatory calls on the government and relevant departments to be well-prepared to cope with any emergencies caused by the rainstorm and suggests that the public suspend outdoor activities.
