On March 18, a program named the Global MediXchange for Combating COVID-19 (GMCC) to help combat the global outbreak was jointly established by the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation.

"In order to win this inevitable battle and fight against COVID-19, we must work together and share our experiences around the world," said the website.

"This handbook, provided by the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, describes how organizations can minimize the cost while maximizing the effect of measures to manage and control the coronavirus outbreak. The handbook also discusses why hospitals and other healthcare institutions should have command centers when encountering a large-scale emergency in the context of COVID-19," introduced the team.

Technical strategies for addressing issues during emergencies; treatment methods to treat the critically ill; efficient clinical decision-making support, and best practices for key departments like inflection management and outpatient clinics are also included.

The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University is the designated hospital for the treatment of severe cases of COVID-19. Up to now, 104 patients have been treated, among which 78 are critically ill.

Although the number of patients is large and the condition is complex, the hospital has achieved "three zeros": "zero infection" for medical staff, "zero missed diagnosis" for suspected patients and "zero deaths" for confirmed patients.

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Yale University contacted the hospital for information.

At present, the English version has been published on the official website of Jack Ma Foundation, Alibaba Foundation, Alibaba Cloud and the official website of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. The Italian, Korean, Japanese and Spanish versions will be released soon.

An international doctor exchange platform has also been launched. Doctors from all over the world can join in and gain experience from Chinese doctors via the DingTalk platform.
