Qiao Yu, a famed Chinese lyrics writer, died of illness at the age of 94 on Sunday in Beijing.

Born in 1927 in Jining City of east China's Shandong Province, Qiao’s best known songs include "Let's Pull on Our Oars" and "My Motherland."
