BEIJING, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Comedy film "Big Red Envelope" remained the top daily earner at China's box office, grossing about 10 million yuan (1.55 million U.S. dollars) on Monday and contributing nearly a quarter of the market's total earnings.

Its total box office revenue reached 157 million yuan, according to figures from the China Movie Data Information Network.

Action thriller "Shock Wave 2" and drama "A Little Red Flower," both released late in December 2020, continued outstanding performance in the market, securing their places among the daily top-three earners. Their box office revenue exceeded 1.2 billion yuan and 1.3 billion yuan, respectively.

The three movies are expected to continue leading the market where there are currently almost no new major titles on the releasing schedule in the run-up to Spring Festival that falls on Feb. 12, according to film data and e-ticketing platform Maoyan.
