A video capturing the reunion of a couple respectively working in the army and a hospital in epidemic-hit Wuhan, who surprisingly met up during a medical supplies delivery, has recently gone viral and moved many netizens.

The husband Wang Chunshang from the logistics unit of PLA Hubei Garrison is responsible for checking vehicles, monitoring road conditions and counting goods.

The intensive work due to the severe epidemic has forced Wang to make eight deliveries a day and rush through meals, leaving him no time to return home.

Wang, while sending 20 tons of daily necessities to stores throughout Wuhan, received an urgent order to allot and deliver 1,000 sets of protective clothing to the General Hospital of the Central Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army, where his wife Zhu Xinmiao works as a nurse in the infectious disease unit.

To Wang’s great surprise, Zhu was the person who received the supplies at the hospital.

After not seeing each other for two months, the couple reunited for 9 minutes and 52 seconds and confided their deep love and care for each other in very simple words, before Wang hurriedly had up leave for another place.

Zhu gave Wang a tin can and a red thread representing good luck, wishing him to be safe and sound.

“He is the husband and father of the family but more importantly he is a soldier,” said Zhu. “I firmly believe we can overcome the COVID-19 epidemic.”
