On July 8, the second "Straits Cup" Cross-Straits University Baseball and Softball Games were held in Pinghu City, in east China's Zhejiang Province. Nearly 300 elite baseball and softball players from 12 universities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, including Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Taipei University, gathered to compete and engage in exchanges.

The University System of Taipei quickly asserted its dominance, putting up four runs on three hits at the outset while delivering a flawless defensive performance. As the contest unfolded, both sides traded offensive and defensive momentum, but the University System of Taipei maintained its rhythm to finish with 14 runs.

After weathering the early surge of its opponent, Taiwan Normal University adjusted its pitching and batting strategy and capitalized on scoring opportunities in the later innings, finishing the game with two runs.

Jiaxing University, a local university, made its second appearance at the tournament, opening with a match against Taipei University. While most of its players only took up baseball after entering university, they played with determination and showed no fear on the field.
