Islamabad (People's Daily) - Tencent-backed battle royale game PUBG Mobile held an awards ceremony in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, on August 2 to recognize Pakistani art designers, data engineers and others who created Pakistan-themed game skins for the title.

At the ceremony, artists from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and other regions in Pakistan performed local cultural programs. The inspiration for PUBG Mobile's Pakistani character skins largely comes from folk traditions and customs from across the country.

PUBG Mobile is highly popular in Pakistan, with dedicated local esports tournaments such as the PUBG Mobile National Championship, the campus ambassador program PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2026 and regional cultural events like Pakistan National Council of the Arts Islamabad.

Data shows that Pakistan has nearly 45 million active mobile game users, with PUBG Mobile among the country's most popular competitive mobile games.
