The 29th Beijing Music Festival is to deliver over ten high-caliber performances spanning opera, symphony, chamber music and cross-genre productions from October 9 to 20.

This year's edition aligns with the 270th birth anniversary of Austrian composing legend Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, placing the iconic composer's timeless works at the heart of its programming.

The festival's opening gala is helmed by legendary conductor Charles Dutoit, leading the Beijing Music Festival Orchestra in a special collaborative performance with piano master Elisabeth Leonskaja. A torchbearer of Russia's golden age of piano tradition, Leonskaja will take on one of Mozart's most expansive and technically demanding piano concertos.

The 2026 festival rolls out a series of innovative "Music+" integrated initiatives that extend far beyond traditional concert halls.

Organizers have partnered with trendy commercial districts and parks across the city to launch pop-up mini-concerts, open-air music parties, and themed cultural markets, alongside custom curated "Travel with Music" cultural routes that let audiences engage with classical music in casual, immersive public spaces.
