Beijing's Forbidden City, which now houses the Palace Museum, will keep its gates open at night to celebrate the Lantern Festival on Tuesday and Wednesday. The museum will feature traditional lamps and a majestic light show on the two-night event.

It’s rare for the palace complex to host night events since its transformation into a museum in 1925. The only exception was in 2015 when the museum extended service hours for a special exhibit.
