The agent of popular Chinese actor Wang Baoqiang was sentenced to six years in prison for embezzlement, according to the Weibo account of a Beijing court.

The court said Song Zhe and an accessory Xiu Yule had embezzled a total of 2.35 million yuan ($339,000) while dealing with Wang’s service fees and product endorsements as Wang’s agents between 2014 and 2016, the Beijing Chaoyang People’s Court said in the verdict.

Xiu was sentenced to three years in jail.

In a public statement on his Weibo account on August 14, 2016, Wang said Song had an affair with his wife and demanded a divorce, which drew millions of comments across China. 

In February this year, the Beijing Chaoyang People's Court granted the divorce.
