Lancang River originates in Zadoi County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Qinghai Province. The vast grassland in the county is at its prime in August. The rocky meadow is an important habitat for endangered species like snow leopards. Thus, it is also hailed as the hometown of snow leopards.
