Hong Kong veteran actor Ng Man Tat passed away on Saturday at the age of 70 after a battle with liver cancer.

Many of Ng's works with Stephen Chow were classic films, such as Fight Back to School, A Chinese Odyssey, Shaolin Soccer, and others, making a large contribution to the popularity of Chinese films overseas.

Ng was active in the mainland film industry in recent years and starred in the Chinese sci-fi film The Wandering Earth in 2017.
